Logical fallicies
Logical Fallacies are the idea of determining the errors that undermine the reasoning of a common argument. This is to say that Logical fallacies are the different types of errors that can be found in an argument that makes it seem less logical or takes convincing. There are many logical fallacies ,such as slippery slope. Slippery slope is the idea of cause and effect, saying one thing happens because of another thing, and it causes another thing to happen, which will eventually lead to another and so on and so forth. It is the idea of chain reaction happening because of one thing. This is considered a logical fallacy for the obvious reason that third idea isn't very supportive. You can't depend on a chain reaction based evidence to support an argument because there is no way of knowing all those scenarios are responsible for one problem. Another logical Fallacy is Hasty generalization, which is the idea of supporting an argument through a generalized idea or statement. In the article,"Logical Fallacies" the author talks about how Logical fallacies are used everywhere in everyday life. It defines the term,"Fallacy" and hoow they are used, along with verious exammplkes. In the text it says,"Again, with the information presented, the conclusion is faulty. There are no facts to back up the claim. Yet, this is the rhetoric being trumpeted on social media and network television 24/7 these days.
This sort of logical nonsense is not bound by party lines.“Democrats want to fund programs to help illegal immigrants become citizens. Democrats do not care about the needy and starving people in our own country.”The pattern is the same: Begin with a proven, or easily proven fact, and follow it up with any claim at all. The truth of the first sentence strengthens the next, and before you know it, Democrats hate Americans and Trump hates everyone else." These examples are examples of slippery slope. The author uses political examples as a way to relate with the people of the modern world, especially of the recent time. This shows how it effects that of the modern society. It also shows the negative impacts it has, such as the creation of untrue statements and stereotypes. This then results in false accusations of certain culture and social groups in society. This can be prevented through the usage of hard data within arguments. Logical fallacies are the idea that real data aren't used to support ideas, but if that changes then it won't be a problem
